Coconut oil is an amazing tropical oil that can be used in many different cooking and cosmetic applications. It is a fantastic lotion on its own and is even more luscious when adding a few drops of lavender oil or other essential oil to add even more benefits. Not only that, but you can use it as a scalp and hair treatment, makeup remover, and even in making your own deodorant! Make sure to purchase organic and unrefined virgin coconut oil.
Benefits: Coconut oil is considered a superfood for the enormous amount of benefits it contains. It is a medium chain triglyceride (MCT) saturated fat, meaning that it is easily used and assimilated in the body, especially for energy and…even weight loss (WHAT!). MCT’s actually increase the body’s metabolic rate and improve the functioning of the thyroid and endocrine system. Plus, the high amount of CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is considered a fat burner as well as an important fatty acid for the brain!
