Vegan Black Bean Brownies

Black bean brownies are such a fun recipe to make! The black beans add a creamy decadent texture that is absolutely delicious, plus it packs a nutrient punch! The black beans make these brownies full of fiber, which will keep your blood sugar levels steady, even after consuming a slightly sweet treat!

This recipe is much fluffier with eggs, but I worked very hard to create a vegan version so that everyone could enjoy! It was one of my best friends birthdays, so I was working to create vegan friendly recipes for her and I hope you all enjoy as well!:)

So, go ahead…TREAT YOSELF!



  • 1 can black beans
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1 cup oats
  • 2 flax eggs (2 tbsps  ground flax + 1/2 cup water) OR 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsps coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup carob
  • 1 orange (peeled)
  • 2 inches of orange peel
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder



  • Blend almonds into a flour
  • Blend oats into a flour
  • Blend black beans with oat and almond flour with all other ingredients


  • Bake at 350 for 20 minutes!
  • Top with chocolate avocado mousse and candied orange rind!
