Homemade deodorant

photo 4
Body products, especially deodorant are one of the most difficult products to find with minimal and healthful ingredients. And, since our skin is our largest organ, we want to make sure we are only putting the purest products on it!

So, we like to make our own body products and deodorant may be one of our favorite ones! It is so simple to make and works better than any deodorant we have ever used before!

When making this deodorant make sure that you are purchasing organic baking soda and all organic products, since this will be absorbing into your skin! This is also especially important with your arrowroot or corn starch so that it is non-GMO!

Also, feel free to use whatever essential oils that you like together! My good friend Jordan made me this deodorant a while ago and I have become obsessed, so this is the combination that I love to use…

Ingredient Spotlight!

Coconut oil is perfect for use in deodorant because it is antibacterial and anti-fungal, while also being moisturizing to your skin!

Lavender oil does not just smell lovely and help relax you, it is also antiseptic and anti-fungal while also calming to your skin.

Lemongrass oil is known for being exceptional as a deodorant and it also contains antimicrobial and antiseptic properties to keep your pits smelling fresh and clean!

Ingredients:photo 5

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp organic baking soda
  • 3 tbsps organic arrowroot starch (or corn starch)

Directions:photo 2

This looks great. My only question is how do you apply it?

I actually just apply with my hand. You just rub your fingers in the jar and smear it in your pits! haha…Let us know if you think of a better way to do this!
