Buying organic fruits and vegetable is ideal when you are shopping to avoid unwanted pesticides and herbicide residues, but sometimes it can be a little pricey.
I use The Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen to make the best choices on where I can cut costs for conventional over organic and where I need to splurge. Unfortunately, it seems that the ‘dirtier’ produce also has the most significant price difference. So, if you are unable to buy your berries or other produce organic, use this homemade wash to reduce the pesticides you ingest!
Ingredients:
Directions: Combine all of these ingredients into a spray bottle, so that whenever you need to wash your veggies you can spray it right on! After spraying let your veggies sit in the solution for 5 minutes before washing off with water again, so that the most pesticides can be pulled out!
